The Cool Climate Wine Shows was again very successful, with just under 600 entries and record attendances at the public tasting and dinner. The show was held at the Red Hill Show Grounds.- past results

9th Lorne Proteomics Symposium

170 delegates attended this two day workshop which precedes the Protein conference. The meeting was a success and the participants have created the "Australasian Proteomics Society" (www.australasianproteomics.org).

With over 500 delegates, the event was a great success, many delegates describing it as the best they had ever attended. A feature was the new dinner format using restaurants in the main street of Lorne.

 

 

 

42nd ASMR Annual Scientific Meeting
22-25 November 2003.

The conference was a success and attracted it's largest number of delegates for 10 years. Following the much larger Congress meeting in 2002, there was concern for the success of this smaller meeting, but the program committee did an outstanding job in gaining local support for the meeting and the result was very pleasing for the Society. ASN organised all aspects of the conference except the program.

 

 

 

The 1st World Congress on Chinese Medicine
 21-24th November 2003
Melbourne, Victoria

The First World Congress on Chinese Medicine presented and share information on recent advances in Chinese Medicine Education, practice and policy and to set the framework for future development in these areas. The conference attracted 563 delegates and had delegates from 22 countries and a strong contingency from China (including Hong Kong) of 118. ASN Events oversaw the planning of the whole event and our ability in assisting delegates obtain Visas for travel through the different embassies ensured the success of the conference.


 

The annual meeting of the ISICR

 Cairns, AUSTRALIA
Attended by 300 delegates from 20 countries, the meeting was very successful. ASN provided complete management services and has been retained to provide web abstract lodgement and registration services for the next meeting in 2004 in Puerto Rico. This is expected to be a larger meeting as it will involve the allied SCIR society.

 

 

 

200th Anniversary of European Settlement in Victoria 2003
Mornington Peninsula, October
A number of high profile activities took place including an around Victoria Air Race, Tall Ships cruises a parade down the main street of Sorrento and a re-enactment of the original landing by Lt Governor David Collins on the foreshore at Sorrento. 10,000-15,000 people participated in the festivities. ASN Events was the overall event supervisor, arranging all the publicity and co-ordinating the various activities. The event was extremely successful and both the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Bicentenary Committee praised ASN for its work. The Bicentenary Committee was extremely grateful for the support of major sponsors Tattersalls, the Victorian Government, Mornington Peninsula Shire, Parks Victoria, Peninsula Searoad Transport and Gunnersens Timbermark
 

 


 

 

1st Annual Scientific Meeting

The first Annual Scientific Meeting of the National Stem Cell Centre was a resounding success and no doubt the pre-cursor for many more. Featuring a State reception on the first evening and eminent speakers from around the world, the conference was attended by 280 and had strong trade support.

With the participation of the NZ Diabetes Society, this meeting was the societies' largest ever, with 1150 delegates. Areas covered by plenary and symposium sessions included diabetes in pregnancy, obesity, diet vs drug treatments, and exercise. A record number of posters were displayed. Feedback from the delegates indicated particularly high satisfaction with the new on-line registration process implemented by ASN. ESA Clinical Weekend

130 clinicians, nurses, registrars and trainees from around Australia enjoyed a strong program of case studies and plenary presentations on Andrology, Adrenal disease, Thyroid and Pituitary issues. The meeting continued it's tradition of good fellowship despite unfriendly weather, with Endocrine Trivia Night and the Dinner highlights. ESA-SRB Annual Scientific Meeting
September 2003
Over 600 delegates attended the combined meeting of the ESA and SRB, setting a record participation level. The program featured extra plenary speakers and ran for four days. ASN implemented an online registration process to completely replace paper registration, and the process was particularly well received.

 

 

15th Annual ENSA Symposium

ENSA's annual symposium is always aligned with the larger ESA meetings allowing delegates to share in a broader program. The meeting had it's largest attendance for a number of years.

APEG joins the ESA/SRB and ADS/ADEA meetings every second year, and this year in Melbourne they were able to share the benefits of timing with two outstanding other conferences. ASN was involved in structuring their involvement to the satisfaction of the other host events, as well as all of their logistically management.

Melbourne, 27-30 July 2003
The themes of the conference focussed on water conservation & management strategies, using recycled waste water, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Strategies to curb the use of pesticides and to bring the industry up to date on the latest greenhouse technology. The conference attracted eminent speakers from Australia, Holland and New Zealand and the last day included bus tours to Victorian farms in Gippsland. The conference was attended by 290 delegates from all over Australia and overseas and had a very strong trade representation. Considered to be on of their most successful conferences ever, the committee used ASN as their first ever PCO. The next event will be held in Queensland in 2005.

 



 

ASMR Medical Research Week
June 2003

Dinners, Expos, Lectures, Seminars, Career sessions and more involving thousands across Australia. Thanks to the 2003 ASMR Medallist Prof Terry Dwyer, who toured nationally presenting at each State dinner, and to the major sponsors, C'Wealth Dept of Health and Aged Care, Merck Sharpe Dohme, Amgen, University of Sydney, Victorian Dept of Health, and Qld Dept. if Innovation, Industry and Environment.

 

 

 

300 participants from 40 countries met in the natural environment of Victoria's Wilson's Promontory National Park for a week long conference of outstanding success. ASN managed all logistics, and prepared a temporary on-site conference venue in the remote Tidal River location. They also assisted the travel arrangements of a number of delegates sponsored by UNESCO from third world countries, a real challenge in an environment of rigorous visa appraisal by the Immigration Department.

 

 

4th International Cool Climate Wine Show March 2003, Red Hill, Victoria
The Cool Climate Wine Shows recorded its fourth year of consecutive growth since it's inception in 2000 by ASN in conjunction with the Red Hill Agricultural Show. There were over 650 entires from Victoria, Tasmania, New Zealand and USA. Best wine of the show was won by Mornington Peninsula's Paringa Estate - past results

 

 

 



 

8th Lorne Proteomics Symposium

160 delegates attended this two day workshop which precedes the Protein conference. The meeting was a success and the participants have resolved to create the "Australasian Proteomics Society in 2004.

A record number of delegates (523) attended this popular specialist meeting. For the first time in it's long history, the committee appointed a conference organiser, ASN, who wee able to deliver an outstanding participation and fiscal result for the client. As a result they have an on-going contract.

The first Asia Pacific meeting of graphic designers evolved from international interest and direction from the international association ACM which holds the huge Siggraph event in the USA. 250 delegates used the newly opened Australian Centre of the Moving Image. ASN played a crucial role in adapting US expectations to the Australian conference scene and in conducting the event in a new, untested and undedicated conference venue. The next Graphite will be in Singapore.
